Twisters, film diretto da Lee Isaac Chung, è un incentrato su un'ex cacciatrice di uragani, Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones), rimasta profondamente segnata da un terribile tornado, nel quale si è imbattuta durante gli anni del college. Adesso Kate si dedica allo studio dei percorsi compiuti dagli uragani nella tranquillità del suo studio di New York. Quando il suo amico la spinge a tornare sul campo per testare un sistema sperimentale di allerta meteorologica, che tracci gli uragani, Kate si ritroverà ancora una volta a rischiare la sua stessa vita.
La donna, però, non sarà sola, perché sul suo percorso incrocerà Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), star dei social media, nota non solo per il suo fascino, ma soprattutto per le sue imprese spericolate.
