Il film si svolge in un inverno nucleare tra le macerie del parco tematico Buena Park California che riproduce edifici di varie allocazioni del mondo. È una planimetria che il protagonista osserva all'inizio del film a fornire questa informazione allo spettatore, con indicazioni quali "Old Europe Town", "Medieval Japan", "Dodge City" o "Future Slade", e con rottami di giostre e trenini sparsi lungo le strade.


The film takes place in a nuclear winter in the rubble of the Buena Park California theme park which reproduces buildings from various locations around the world. It is a plan that the protagonist observes at the beginning of the film to provide this information to the viewer, with indications such as "Old Europe Town", "Medieval Japan", "Dodge City" or "Future Slade", and with wreckage of rides and toy trains scattered along the streets.
