Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult) è un giovane avvocato che, nella Germania del 1838, viene mandato dal suo capo Friedrich (Aaron Taylor Johnson), sulle montagne della Transilvania, nei Carpazi, per finalizzare la vendita di una proprietà al misterioso Conte Orlok (Bill Skarsgard).
