La Belva, film diretto Ludovico Di Martino, è la storia di Leonida Riva (Fabrizio Gifuni), un ex tenente dal temperamento molto solitario e torvo, che a causa del suo lavoro e, in particolare, del servizio in guerra si è ritrovato spesso costretto ad allontanarsi dalla sua famiglia. Nonostante il primogenito Mattia non gli abbia mai perdonato la sua assenza soprattutto durante la sua infanzia, la sorellina Teresa è affezionatissima al suo papà.
Ma Leonida ha messo da parte ormai il suo passato da reduce di guerra e ha cercato di smussare quei lati del suo carattere che gli hanno dato la fama di uomo duro e cupo; eppure un tragico evento fa riemergere in lui la durezza di un tempo. La piccola Teresa viene rapita e al padre non resta che tirare fuori la belva sopita che è in lui e tornare a mettersi in gioco per salvare la sua bambina.
Leonida Riva is a gloomy, solitary war veteran, once Captain of the Army's special forces. Life and work have driven Riva apart from his family. His eldest son, Mattia, has never forgiven him while his daughter, Teresa, loves him unconditionally. However, a tragic event will force Leonida to transform into something he thought he had long buried in the past.
