Epic Pen is an interesting application that gives you the ability to draw on the monitor screen regardless of the environment, for example, you can draw on the desktop screen, any active application, the Start menu, the taskbar and anything else. The software also supports tools: highlighting, eraser, screen capture and hotkeys. No experience with other graphic editors is required, everything is intuitive.
The setup is quick and very simple and the only notable drawback is that you need to install .NET Framework version 4.2 to run. As for the interface, the utility uses a small vertical panel with a modern look and buttons for all actions that can be switched to a minimized form to make it more convenient.
When working, you can select a pen or marker for drawing, you can change the color and size of the pen, return to the cursor mode to continue normal work on the PC, you can erase drawings using the eraser, there is an undo action, you can clear the screen, as well as capture the entire screen and save the image in the PNG file type. It is worth noting that the eraser does not work with the classic method of holding the mouse button and dragging the eraser over the unwanted areas you want to remove. Instead, you can simply click on the line to make it disappear. Keyboard shortcuts are supported for toggling the program's visibility, selecting the cursor, pen, highlighter, and eraser, undoing actions, clearing the screen, taking snapshots, and increasing or decreasing the stroke size. These hotkeys can be reassigned according to your preferences. Meanwhile, the settings can be remembered for future sessions or reset to default values.
