Il film è ambientato a Roma, appena prima della venuta di Cristo e durante la dittatura di Cesare. I senatori Rufo e Cassio hanno un'idea per porre fine alla sua tirannia: chiedere a Bruto, il figlio rinnegato di Cesare, di uccidere il proprio padre. Alla ricerca di vendetta contro chi lo ha sempre allontanato, Bruto accetta e si prepara a diventare un eroe. C'è un unico problema: non ha nulla di ciò che serve per diventarlo.
