'Ernie looks after the shop whilst Renee goes to court. Stan spends £4 of the compensation on drink. Bet goes to court with Annie whilst Ken goes with Renee. The magistrates hear their case. Ernie gets a job interview and worries that Renee won\'t be back in time. Renee has 276 signatures on her petition and she feels that the area needs an off-licence. Annie\'s solicitor, Peter Smith, brings up the fact that Renee has been reported for opening on Sundays. He accuses her of just being after the profits. Ken tells the magistrates that an off-licence would be convenient. Annie tells the court that she believes the Rovers fulfills all the neighbours\' needs.' |
