Synopsis
From the producer of Wheeler Dealers, Flipping Bangers sees our charismatic mechanical duo, Will and Gus, give themselves a simple but touch mission: fix a dead car and double their money in just one week! They have ditched their jobs in order to make a go of flipping and selling old motors that anyone else would walk away from. In each episode, they go hunting for a once-cherished car, drive hard deals, and try to fix and sell it before their time runs out. Their livelihoods are at stake and the jeopardy is real! Can Will & Gus make a success of Flipping Bangers and come out on top, or will the blood, sweat and tears only lead to failure?
This is very similar to the early seasons of Wheeler Dealers where it was all about fixing what you have rather than just throwing ridiculous amounts of money at it!
Triumph Spitfire
Gus and Will are on the hunt for a Triumph Spitfire. They find one that’s being sold and snap it up quickly at a low price. But the car is riddled with issues.
Volkswagen Golf MK2
Gus and Will track down a fantastic Mk2 Golf GTI. It’s great to look at, totally original and potentially very easy to sell. This one has no engine though - it’s a huge risk.
Toyota MR2 MK2
Gus and Will locate a fantastic Toyota MR2 mk2. It’s quick and it’s cheap, but it’s the lowest spec out there, and it looks dowdy.
Citroen BX
Gus and Will track down a car that Gus used to own and still loves - the Citroen BX. But it’s been in a field for years, can’t drive or stop, and looks terrifying.
Alfa Romeo 155
Gus and Will are after an Italian car. They can’t afford the true classics so they let they budget dictate the vehicle and settle on a 155 from the '90s.
Porsche 924
Gus and Will track down a driving legend well past its best - a brown 924 that has a torn and cracked interior, scrapyard paintwork and green carpets. But do they buy it?
Volvo 480
Gus and Will track down a super-rare Volvo. It’s great to look at, totally original and potentially very valuable. But it can’t start or stop, and isn’t road legal.
Mercedes 190
Gus and Will want a cool Mercedes 190. They find the cheapest in the country at £550. It has an engine issue and faults with the suspension. Just what the guys want!
Mazda MX-5
Gus and Will head 200 miles south to track down one of the most popular ragtops in the world - the Mazda MX-5.
Austin Metro
Gus and Will are on a trip down memory lane as they track down a 1980s Austin Metro. It’s cheap, it’s clean, and the guys suspect there is strong money to be made.
