Rylan and Scott Mills are live from Basel, Switzerland, for the first semi-final of the world’s biggest music competition, as 15 countries compete for ten places in Saturday’s grand final. Expect powerful vocals, spectacular staging and a nail-biting voting sequence.
Highlights include early favourite KAJ for Sweden with a catchy ode to saunas, Iceland’s answer to Jedward – VÆB – and DJ Gabry Ponte for San Marino. Best known for producing Blue (Da Ba Dee) with his band Eiffel 65, DJ Gabry is hoping for another worldwide hit with Tutta l’Italia.
Also performing, and guaranteed a place in Saturday’s grand final, are the acts representing two of the 'Big Five', Spain and Italy. And host nation Switzerland will also showcase their act.
Following Nemo’s win with The Code last year in Malmo, Eurovision returns home to Switzerland, hosts of the very first contest back in 1956, who last won with Celine Dion back in 1988.
Taking on hosting duties for the Swiss are award-winning stand-up comedian Hazel Brugger and presenter, actress and singer Sandra Studer, who represented Switzerland at the contest back in 1991.
They introduce viewers across Europe to this year’s competitors and some spectacular interval acts – live from St Jakobshalle in Basel.

Semi-Final 2
Rylan and Scott Mills are live from Basel, Switzerland, for the second semi-final of the world’s biggest music competition as 16 countries vie for just ten places in Saturday’s grand final, and UK viewers can vote for their favourites.
Girl band Remember Monday, the UK’s representative, take to the Eurovision stage for a live performance of What the Hell Just Happened?. As a member of the Big Five, the UK is guaranteed a place in Saturday’s final – but this will be the first chance for viewers across Europe to see Remember Monday’s highly anticipated stage show.
Acts competing for a place in Saturday’s grand final include Austria’s JJ – with a unique blend of opera, pop, EDM and some spectacular high notes, Malta’s Miriana Conte – who hopes to serve up Malta’s first ever win with her empowerment anthem Serving, and Go-Jo for Australia with his song Milkshake Man.
Also performing, and guaranteed a place in Saturday’s grand final, are brother and sister duo Abor & Tynna for Germany, with their catchy electro pop hit Baller, and Louane, who represents France with her dramatic power ballad Maman.
All this, plus incredible interval performances and a nail-biting results reveal, make for a spectacular event ahead of Saturday’s grand final.
The 69th Eurovision Song Contest is hosted by Swiss stars Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer, live from St. Jakobshalle in Basel – following Nemo’s win last May.
