Description: Review: Red Beard is a southern rock band that has carved a niche nationally and internationally since the release of their first EP. During this time they have not stopped playing concerts, earning the respect of the public, the media and the critics. After signing with the multinational Peermusic, It is time to release their fourth album, Dakota. The band hardens the sound that has accompanied them since its inception, with an album that is closer to rock and southern rock than their previous efforts. After an intense national and international touring schedule during 2015 through to 2017, It is now time for the band to release their fourth album and they are already announcing the first dates of their upcoming tour, which will take them across Europe and U.S.A. The album opens with “A Place To Settle,” a fantastic opening track, which brings an upbeat and positive tempo. It is infectious and enchanting to its core. This track definitely doesn’t settle, it raises the bar high for what is to grace our presence. “Hit ’em Low, Hit ’em Harder” follows with a fast tempo, while, it hits the gas and drive forward, making sure to hit you hard. It is catching, as the guitars bring their soaring groove to the table. “Don’t Need To Knock On Wood” follows with a southern country groove, which shines through, creating light and such beauty. It shows off a classic sound, with some extra spice, while complex guitars add the perfect bite. “Hold On” rises and dips, therefore creating an excellent contrast and consequently, it makes you want to hold on for more. Outstanding vocals blend and flow with such ease on this tight and brilliantly executed number. “Crank It Up” slows the tempo slightly, as it builds throughout. The melody allows the vocals to stand prominent. This song wants you to do exactly what it says on the label, crank it up loud and sing your heart out, until your lungs give in. “I’m Your Man” shows off sultry vocals, which seduce and embed under your skin. It is stunning and utterly captivating. Slide guitar riffs bring such essence and character to this tune. “Begging For More” is preppy and such a feel good track. It dances forward with such confidence, grace and just a little piece of honky tonk, to complete this delicious pie. It will literally have you begging for more. “Nowhere Road” is another great track, with complex layers and plenty of attitude. It is absolutely rocking and makes you want to go to a hoedown and dance the night away. “Nobody’s Gonna Bring Me Down” has plenty of drive and, is fully loaded to the brim. A number full of fight as it stands its ground, while expert guitars bring a strong game to the party. “The Devil Showed Up With A Better Deal” is full of crunch, groove and is quite exceptional. It shows off a great deal and leaves you craving for more. A rocking album from start to finish, while eloquently hitting all the right spots. Imagine if Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackberry Smoke conceived a child, The outcome would be Red Beard.
